The Brazoria Heritage Foundation was founded in 2004 to save the “Old School” in downtown Brazoria from the wrecking ball when the school district moved the students to a new location.
The buildings have been renovated and put to good use for and by the citizens of the area. The whole complex is commonly know as the Brazoria Civic Center and houses the Brazoria Community Museum, Brazoria Chamber of Commerce, Brazos Valley Railroad Society, Brazoria Lions Club, Brazoria County Cavalry, with rentals by Brazoria County for WIC and Vaccination Clinic, White Tiger Taekwando, Dance Academy of Worship, Masters Academy of Fine Arts (MAFA), and other groups.
Several buildings are available for rentals for various venues:
The Lloyd E. Thomas Gymnasium is available for large events such as weddings and banquets. Seating and tables included for 300 people.
The Conference Center which is a building for meetings, showers, and other similar events, seats up to 100 people and includes a full kitchen area.
The Cafeteria is available for other rentals and has seating for up to 80 people.
The Theater in the 1933 Building is available for conferences, entertainment, memorials, etc. It seats 465 people and has a large video screen with video projector and lighting and sound system.
